Neck pain
Neck pain can vary in its symptoms from a dull ache to sharp stabbing sensations. The neck may also hurt and feel restricted with movements. The onset of neck pain may be gradual as in the case of long term poor posture or it may start suddenly after a traumatic incident like a fall or a road traffic accident. Since the beginning of the corona virus pandemic many more people are working from home. Inadequate workstation setups at home can also lead to neck pain and headache.
Headaches
Headaches can often be related to neck pain. There are many different types of headaches but the most common ones are tension type headaches and migraines. Tension headaches often originate in the neck and shoulders and radiate upwards towards the base of the head. This type of headache is often experienced like a tight band around the head and sometimes also just at the base of the head.
Migraines are often experienced on one side of the head/face or around one eye. Sometimes migraines start with sensory disturbances like flashes of light, blind spots or vision changes. This type of migraine is called migraine with aura. With both migraine with or without aura there is intense pain and sometimes nausea and sensitivity to light and sound.
Pain between the shoulder blades
Pain in the upper back and between the shoulder blades can vary from a dull ache to a sharp stabbing pain. Sometimes when the problem has been there for a while it has also been described as a burning sensation. The onset of the pain in the upper back can be gradual in the case of tension/stress and poor (work) posture or sudden after just one wrong movement. These symptoms can sometimes also lead to sensations of pressure or stabbing pains in the chest.

Low back pain
Just like pain higher up in the spine, low back pain can vary from a dull ache to sharp stabbing pains. Sometimes those pains are paired with stiffness as well. In some cases like with sciatica, the pain and/or other sensations like numbness, pins and needles, burning can radiate into the leg down to the knee and sometimes all the way down to the foot. The onset of symptoms can be gradual as a result of poor (work) posture, think prolonged sitting at an inadequate workstation like a lot of us have been doing since working from home when the corona virus pandemic started. In other cases the onset of symptoms can also be sudden like making a wrong movement or having an accident.
